The abbreviation ‘AwSV’ stands for the ‘Ordinance on Installations Handling Substances Hazardous to Water’. An important aspect in connection with the AwSV is the creation of cadastres. A cadastre is a systematic compilation of information on specific circumstances. In the case of the AwSV, these are registers for facilities that handle substances hazardous to water. These registers contain, among other things, information on locations, types and quantities of substances as well as safety precautions and emergency plans.
